Upcoming Events for Spring 2014!

                  NAEA with Salvation Army

Weekly volunteer opportunities through our partnership with the Indiana Salvation Army's after school program Supper Club! This is a great opportunity to gain classroom experience prior to Student Teaching. Most lessons are designed for one session due to the drop in nature of the program bringing in children ranging from ages 5-18. Supper Club takes place every Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 pm.

Guest Speaker Series Continues!
March 11th at 8:00 pm
213 Sprowls Hall, Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
This lecture will be on Co-Teaching, which is becoming more common in school districts. This lecture will be in place of our weekly meeting.

Norwin High School Workshop: Recycled Plastic

Led by Brandon McDonald, this two month long partnership with the Norwin High School will dive into the benefits of recycled plastics! By creating Plant/Animal Hybrids the students will learn various methods of transforming our waste into inspiring three dimensional works. Can't wait to see them on display at the Greensburg Arts Center!

Campus Workshop: Photo Transfers
Towards the end of March we plan on hosting an event to teach students of IUP how to get creative with photo transfers. Details of the event are still in the works!

Bright Ideas

Focused around the upcoming Roots and Wings exhibit featuring works from David Tomb and Maura Keeney, this museum + studio workshop will explore the ideas of nature and found materials. Our walk from the museum to the studio will be inspiring!

Chalk on the Walk
Sponsored by the Student Cooperative Association, this annual chalk drawing contest brings the university and the community together for a day long event in the heart of campus, the Oak Grove. As usual there will be prizes for the winners of each theme (TBA). Thank you to all of the local businesses who help support this
event!  We're looking forward to seeing the talent of IUP students!
